i have a 96 xlt 4.0 ohv... and i went through 3 flex plates, 3 torque convertors, and 3 pumps in the last 2 months with a o/d light constantly flashing with obd2 code P1744 Torque Converter Clutch System Stuck in Off Position and i did all possible changing solenoids and checking the valve body... i even went on identifix and tried some known problems due to this but no luck... any ideas?....

This is my opinion, there is an alignment problem between the engine and trans. Are the locating pins, one on each side of the engine in good condition? Are the locating holes in the bell housing in good condition? Is the plate that is between the two in good condition and are all surfaces clean? Did the trans come from a wreck? If it did the bell housing may be twisted, doesn't take but a few thousands to cause a problem. The bushing in the bell housing is probably bad now but not the original problem, also if you used he bolts to align the trans by tightening them, instead of slipping the trans into position before tightening any bolts you may have bent the bell housing. None of this is related to the TCC problem.
