i was looking at putting it near the front tire.
But what if you get i tire blow out?
I 'm thinkingi it's going to take out the filter.
and i don't carry a spare fliter.

I like this set up best but don't understand where the lines are tying into. Is that the lines going to the tranny cooler? can you get a closer shot of where the two lines are connecting to the hard line just behind the radiator its difficult to see.

do you buy thes in a kit or go find the parts you need?? I would like to do this but don't know all the parts needed.

Ah OK, not bad $28 and the summit one comes with the hoses and it says stainless steel clamps and screws. Looks like I'll be adding one in the near future.

Ok I was looking at njs's and his is tapped in before the radiator it appears. Better if placed in line after cooler I am assuming. I will take some measurements and see if the tubing would reach from cooler to mount next to radiator like NJS's.

I just like that kind of install location better than behind the bumper, especially since I will be adding a custom built offroad bumper as soon as it gets here from KirbyN

Actually it's $28.69 + $8.45 handling fee. No shipping fee charged as advertised...Yeah right! ;) :D

Aw man what a rip!!! I hate it when they do that!!!

This has been a VERY informative thread.
Guess who else is going tranny filter shopping !!!!!

Well Monmix I'll post what I find if you do the same

how do you by pas the filter in the trans

id like to know if you can get around the internal filter too. With a drain bolt and no internal filter you could avoid dropping the pan all together.

I just installed mine today along with a flush and a b&m cooler. I mounted mine on the outside frame rail behind the bumber. Probably not the safest spot, but I wanted easy access and I wanted it verticle. I just cut off both the hard lines right before they made the right angle bend towards the drivers side. Then I ran to the filter, then to the b&m and back to the return line. I bypassed the radiator cooler completely for the sake of simplicity. I haven't fully tested it out yet though, so Ive got my fingers crossed. :D

BTW, every single one of my valve body bolts were loose. Im glad I read about that here, would have never thought to check that otherwise. :)

I just went to a local speed shop, and got he B&M Aux. Filter kit for $24. Very easy install.

I found one that I like also, but I want the filter to come after the cooler in the factory radiator. is the bottom line in and the top line out or which way does the fluid flow? Also, how do you attach the lines to the hard lines that are going into the radiator?

Thanks.

heres the pic

sorry about the delay

So yours is filtering before it goes into the radiator right? so if I wanted to filter after the radiator, I would want to put it on the lower line?

Thanks

Yes, Cheat. Top line goes IN the radiator and comes OUT in the bottom line back to the tranny. More explanations here.
