Safety Recall 22S27

So I ran my VIN (2020 ST) on the Ford recall site and it isn't part of the program. Also checked my brother in laws 2022 XLT that was built a month ago and is being delivered this Saturday and it's also not part of the recall. So not every Explorer is part of this.
I ran mine to and it doesn't show up. But then recall 21E11 for cracked exhaust pipe doesn't either and I know it does plus I just talked to my service advisor a couple days ago. Just wanted to see if there was any change in the status of when it might get done.

Did your 2020 ST show up on FordPass as a recall for this problem? My 2020 Limited does not show up on the Ford recall site but it does on My FordPass.

Ford hasn't actually issued a recall so VINs may not be in that system yet. Ford usually sends those notifications by mail when the recall is active. You can also check to see if you see that one bolt vs two bolts underneath the rear of your vehicle just behind the differential.

Here's a pic of what only the one bolt looks like. These would be the vehicles that may be included in the recall if they implement it. Obviously, there is a space for two.

FordPass doesn't show any recall for me but my vehicle only has the one bolt vs two. So, there's that. I'm assuming the issue stems from the fact that Ford may have taken short cuts due to parts shortages to get vehicles out to door and figured only one bolt would be enough. Just a guess, though.

My 2021 AWD Limited 3.3 Hybrid is recalled on the my ford app and the ford site...texted dealer on list to be schedule when parts available

If that was mine I would install the AWR brace from Whoosh Motorsports. It would give a lot of peace of mind.

Would you mind providing the recall number? Seems weird that they would recall yours unless they are going by date of manufacture.

Derating the torque output after purchase sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. I would be pissed.

I know they can change specs mid production and that the vehicle you purchase may not meet the advertised spec, but derating an already purchased vehicle to take care of an issue that was caused by leaving a bolt out of the suspension? That's way out of line.

It does not show on Ford Pass either

Mine doesn't show either for the exhaust. They told me last time it was in that this recall existed and all they are to do is inspect every time it is in for service.

I would suspect it's the same recall number but let's see what his reply is.

The recall number on the FordPass app is 22S27 affected vehicles are identified in oasis Also.

Interesting - so I know I have only one bolt and I would think my vehicle would be in the recall but nothing shows in FordPass. I guess Ford is working through all the VINs based on date of manufacture? Sea_Ray mentioned that even though they saw the recall, nothing will be done until parts come available. So, it's just a waiting game.

Where do you check your VIN? I my 2022 Limited 4wd with a 2.3L was just delivered to the dealership yesterday and I was going to pickup Monday, but the dealer called and said it is missing a part a is being held from sale.

This is the NHTSA site. If you have the FordPass app you can check there too.
