As long as it isn't the monoleaf, you could do an AAL. It will lift the rear a little bit, but also stiffen it.

There are also air shocks that have the advantage of load leveling, and they can be aired down for normal driving to provide a softer ride.

Just for clarification, the AAL = add a leaf, where you add an additional leaf spring to the pack. Some people have also swapped to F-150 leaf springs, but I think the best and easiest would be to do the AAL.

mine too....sagging pretty bad IMO. I just got done ordering a pro comp AAL from summit racing...should be here by wed of next week. I hope to have it on next weekend, and we are towing the boat to go fishing, so I will know if it makes a difference or not.

Every time I go looking for an add-a-leaf kit, I can't find one for a 2000 XLT.. any ideas here? Are they all the same, just not listing my year? I'm going to tow with mine, and take trips with coolers and people in the back, I need to stiffen it up... Anyone?

there are many options out there, but they can be difficult to find. I ordered mine from Summit Racing. I ordered part number EXP-13120 for my 2001 Mounty we should have the same leaf pack. They worked very well.. They ran about $32 for the set and took less than 1 hour to install.

I need to get one of these aal kits, I just towed alot of weight with a saggin ass end. I would rather not sag so much next time I make the trip.

Yeah my 1993 with a 1000 kilogram trailer sags a little with it loaded and unloaded. The trailer is about 8 foot box x 4 foot wide box and made of mostly steel.

01 Ranger Sagging - Sagging truck in general

I figure you fellas already figured out a solution being that this thread is a little old but I'm new to the forum, I was browsing around and thought I would give some input in case someone has the same problems.

If your vehicle is sagging when it is unloaded, then your springs are shot and you need some new springs.

However, if it just sags when you are loaded, then you are in need of some additional load support whether it be from helper springs, air bags, or a timbren kit.

Another option is add a leaf kits but the only time I would explore that option is if you were going to be loaded or towing all of the time being that an add a leaf kit will give you constant support.

Air bags, timbren, and hellwig helper springs will give you the ability to adjust to your load so that your ride stays the same when you are unloaded. I personally would recommend the ford ranger timbren kit.
