94 explorer 4x4
My 94 has g50 deaver leaf springs and it sags to driver side in the rear bad I swapped springs side to side and nothing changed could they both be worn out? It’s a new to me explorer with the cookcraft rear shock mounts, stock shackles not sure if those make a difference or just a pivot point.
When I swapped leaf springs side by side they looked good and measured the same

The leaf springs could be worn out. The 1st Gens are heavier on the driver side because of the gas tank placement. It could also be a worn front coil spring causing the lean.

Post some pictures of your Explorer.

Try googling "chevy lean"...you may find some helpful info, example below

Ill give that a look I just put new 4” tuff country springs in to replace the sky jacker ones, body mounts look decent not new but both sides look the same

Was the lean there before you replaced the coil springs?
Yah I’ll get pictures tomorrow it seems like leaf sag but I swapped them and today I swapped shackles no difference, do you thing the rear shocks will make a 1” difference I was told they were rebuilt 800 miles ago when I bought it I can swap those next and see

Shocks shouldn't make a difference in ride height, unless one is frozen or blown.

This is how you figure this out. Check suspension components one at a time. If the sag is an inch, then that's not bad. They came out of the factory like that. Measure frame height at the leaf spring mounts and bumper. Mine was a full inch different side to side and Ford said it was within specs.

Put a 1” block under the low side leaf pack.

I have the two holes for my rear shackles when I drop the passenger side down a notch it gets the explorer within half an inch, should I run it that way or block under leaf pack?

Whichever gets it close enough for you to be happy. Some guys practically measure all four corners with a micrometer to get it perfect, some guys don’t care about the lean. It’s a spectrum that I’m somewhere in between.

My 98 had torsion bars for the front. Did that start after 94? If so you can adjust those.

I had a 98 Explorer Sport. Those had mono-leaf springs and got Gangsta Lean really bad because the gas tank behind a 200 driver and no passengers most of the time. I swapped used 4 door rear leaf springs into that and changed sides and that fixed a lot of it. Gained a 300 lb capacity gain as well. Fixed the rest by adjusting the torsion bars.

I hope this helps.

Gotcha, just seeing 4x4 now. I just alway felt that mine needed more rear spring. Maybe some helper springs too? Or add leafs. Not fun but you get what you want.

Is it the body mounts? Take some
Measurements and try to determine which corner needs additional lift, try using the frame as a place to measure from
Thinking your body mounts maybe fubar

Tuff country coil springs are not the greatest (stiff)
When installing the coils did you get them seated in the buckets properly? Coil spring orientation is very important for getting proper ride height

We need some good detailed pictures :)
Sounds like a nice ride, custom
Leafs, custom shock
Mounts shackles cut and turned beams… drool drool

Haha, I wish but body mounts look even all around it really does seem like a suspension style sag I dropped the leaf spring shackle one notch on driver side and it definetely helped it’s a new to me explorer so I don’t know how old the springs I swapped back in my skyjacker ones camber went away so I’m closer to even moving the leaf springs but when I swapped them it was still the same so maybe both are worn out? Fell in love with the explorers bought a **** box realized I didn’t have the time and picked this one up

For the body mounts should I adjust the lean based off that vs suspension? My rear shocks are about a 1/2” off which adds to about a 1” overall on the body so I’m stuck between explorer lean and it just leans

Interesting coil bucket setup
Can we see more pics of the coil buckets and how the coils are sitting in them? Maybe why you have a lean

Front shocks cost more then most explorers hahahahaha

Would drive me insane to have my rear shackles like that my brain won’t let me have them in different holes

If you can go look at a factory ttb truck take a look at the top of the front coils you will see it is very important to have them orientated similarly to get the correct ride height. Where you have your j hook and where the coil is ending does not look correct… even with your customized coil buckets up front

S10's have that issue with the springs....have to be clocked correctly or no bueno

Rig looks heavily mod'd...suspension-wise...guess the lean condition is making more sense, albeit still not acceptable

The j hook for the coils doesn’t do anything but retain the spring from falling out, and my brain hates the lean of the explorer more haha, the front is sitting good where it should it’s the driver rear side where the squat is I’m really stuck thinking it’s just springs I’ll have to go get a stock junkyard pair with extended shackles and see is the only way I can tell, it drives great and straight down the road just parked looks wonky sometimes and I’m tinkering with it, tomorrow I’ll try to find a level place to measure body mounts
