just thought id fill everyone in, www.saleen.com is blowing out sway bars for explorer (95-99) for $50!

for your $50 you only get the sway bar itself and no mounting hardware, but i just got off the phone with them, and they guy kept running back to the tech. dept. for answers to my questions...they claim i can use the original mounting hardware to mount this bar.

does anyone have any experience with these bars? are they correct - can i use the original mounting hardware with the sway bar? anything else about your saleen sway bar youd like to share?

if for some reason this wont work, id rather spend $160 and get it from explorer express. please help me out (and im sure some other people are gonna be taking advantage of this offer too.)

thanks guys & gals.

Let's find out, cause I'll probably be in to get one. What was the orig. price?

i didnt ask the guy on the phone, but i could have sworn i heard like $300 somewhere originally. theres only one guy i know of who has the saleen sway bar and thats williechu. hes a really good guy, i just emailed him about it. ill post the response i get, unless he posts about it first :)

Jeez, I'd for sure be interested in that :)

Just looked on Steeda and they have them for $120 for the rear and it says the stock hardware must be reused. SO.........!! Hear that plastic cha ching

It is my understanding that the bushings on the Explorer Express sway bar kit are of a poly material and much better than stock. Further i have heard that simply replacing the stock with poly bushings will give a performance boost.

I wonder what the bar will be like using the stock bushings?

Other thoughts???????

get the poly bushings and the saleen bar.... no more fishtailing

i heard the same thing as aldive, which is why i questioned it. i wonder if we can just get the bushings from explorer express?..if so, im ordering mine tomorrow :)

50 bucks i am in for sure

Mine's on the way. $49.79 + $7.50 S & H. They have "lots" from what I was told. I can always add poly bushings later, maybe when they are on sale too!!

um, let me rephrase my last post....

where can we get the Energy Suspension poly bushings?

is this front or rear? what else will i need

Does anyone know the size of this sway bar? How does it compare to the one offered by Explorer Express?

In this case bigger IS better.....

well from what I heard the saleen one is not as big as the Explorer Express one...that is why id like an opinion on how it rates to that EE one before i go and but it....

If its smaller than the Explorer Express bar, it wo;; most likely not perform as well.

In light of this, the sale price might not be a bargain after all.....

BUT>>>> then again if these are the sway bars that saleen puts on their explorers, you would think they would be good....right?

Good, probably; better than stock, probably, but, how do they compare with the Explorer Express bars is the question.

True... but explorer express has been known to be over priced....WHERE IS WILLY CHU...he has one... I already know the Explorer Express one is good.....hmmmmm

As soon as someone gets theirs and gets it installed, post here how they fit in the stock bushings. I just put on ES bushings last week and they fit my stock sway bars. If your stock (or ES) bushings fit, then mine should fit. My main concern is my front sway bar. It is huge (but hollow). If the Saleen sway bar is a lot smaller, I'm thinking that it would be too small for my poly bushings. I was quite impressed with my ES bushings, however considering the price of the Saleen sway bars, it's worth it to gain a little better handling.
