Was the paint baked on or air cured? If it's air cured, I would be very careful about getting salt on it. Depending upon the type of paint used, you're supposed to wait at least 2-4 weeks for it to air cure before doing anything like putting wax on it.

If it's baked on, you should be good to go.

well its air cured.. since i paint it in my garage... but it was kept at 70degrees most of the time. it has like 3 coats of diamond cut compound and 3 coats of swirl remover. and those have been on for 2 days.

i really dont know! but im itchin to drive my baby

well long and short of it yes the salt will hurt the paint. Meaning salt will hurt ANY paint. Ten years old or ten days old.

Draper is on the right wave length though. Paint not fully curred will be more susceptable to damage as will unprotected paint.

A quick wash of once it gets on is your best defence. But before that I would put on a quality wax or protectant ( I am a big Zaino fan ) after three full days of curing.

well we painted it on january 11th-12th.. soo has it cured yet? being in a heated 70 degree garage . who is the local supplier of this zaino?

it should be cured if it has been 70 the whole time.

No local Zaino out lets. web only. www.zainostore.com

here is a brief testimonial.

damn! your paint looks tons better then mine, i cleared soo much dust! haha oh well i had fun doin it and learn a **** ton....

thanks monmix im gonna order that stuff!

i work for a body shop and we have to send out cars into the salt days after there painted and we dont bake our jobs...but as long as you dont let the salt stay on the finish for to long and when you do clean it try to use warm water and a the softest brush you can find and even then barely use any pressure...i just hink that cleaning a fresh paint job wiht salt on it if like trying to wash off sandpaper..so the gentler you can be the better, but your finihs should be fine
