Salvage yard wrecks from work

why not just take a looksee in the car before you drop it off at the salvage yard.. and borrow some of the "broken" stuff from it?

>whistles innocently<

Not my fault those nice unmolested jetta sidemarkers were hanging off that wreck.....

Or that that repo'd ranger's driveshaft was thrown into its bed instead of being hooked back into place......

Or...well, I should probably shut up before I get fired

Maybe ya snag all these pics b/c yer in the know how and see it all... but shiat! Really, there's alot of nice parts cars in these pics... I've yet to find a decent salvage yard by me (Right, cause there there arent enough accidents and what not in and around chicago?) My guess is anything worth a hoot is sent of somewhere else, were they're gonna get more money, and these places i don't know of or cant get to... :o

You're absolutely right, RFR2212! I find that most of our salvage gets sold to either 1) A car dealer who uses it for spare parts and still charges the customer for new parts or 2) a father and son type fix it shop who will repair it for cheap and pawn it off to the local used car dealer! There is only ONE auto store I know of in this area who buys wrecks and lets his customers pick through them, but he charges an arm and a leg.

If you wreck, make *absolutely* sure you get your stuff out ASAP..most Tow shops won't steal it, but if it goes to auction, you'll never see your stuff again, I gaurantee it- Even if you get permission to come in and try to get it out!

I know somebody at work just got a nice set of Tiger Woods Pro Golf clubs out of a wrecked 'Yota...the owner wasn't fast enough.
