Buuuuut...you guys familiar with Gm's new Quadrasteer? You know, the system that turns the back wheels too to cut down the turning radius?

Here's Toyota's version :D

)About the kid on the quad, I learned my lesson to slow down on those things, I hit about a 6 inch high bump going prolly around 35mph, and it threw me and the quad pretty far, i'd say 20ft, i dont' know how high in the air. The only thing i pretty much remember about the crash is a split second in the air, and waking up on the ground. When i woke up i hadn't realized wat had happened, and i couldn't figure out why i was dirty until i saw the quad, which was up side down, still running(nothing stops a honda;) ). Of all times, i didn't have my phone on me, and mange to drive the quad home. After that i have no idea wat happened until we got to the ER.

It gives me chills to think about it, and to think how stupid i was. Since then i've learned my lesson to slow my @$$ down! bigtime! Didn't have major damage to the quad, both racks bent, and my axle was bent and slightly cracked. But i'm alive and here :D

Todd:confused:

One pic down from the "You want BBQ" What's the deal with the blue Space shuttle van?

What kind of quad? What kind of psi do you run in your front tires? Almost any atv can clear a 6 inch square edge bump at 40.

But some of the wrecks I pick up are downright depressing...especially if they involve explorers :(

This one's ENTIRE Pass front wheel assembly was tossed in the cargo area. Poor thing's innards were hanging out thru the gaping hole in the side and its frame was resting on its own front fender whch had crumpled up underneath it :(

Yet the whole grille looks undammaged...

How about a 30 inch deep hole?! I hit one in the Mojave Desert when I was 25. I was doing about 45 mph when it happened. I broke my hip and spent four weeks in traction. With the exception of two front blowouts the Quad was fine! I was told I'd never walk again. I showed them.

Its a Honda Recon, i run about 5psi in all four and they're 6ply dirt devils. The front went over fine, it was the back that just bounced up and around.

And it wasn't just a plain bump. A logging company had put a dirversion ditch across the road to reroute the water, so on the upper side of the hill in dropped about 4-6inches below the road level, then up to around 6inches above road level to create a little trouf type thing.

What's the deal with the blue Space shuttle van?

@#$%in piece of &%^* >curses every time she sees one of those things now<

Those vans were hands down the worst vehicles I've ever had to pick up! Some fella bought all of Shuttle bus's wrecks and break downs for dirt cheap and decided to sell them for more at my auction (dummy! They were junk!)

What we didn't know was that all 32 of these suckers were packed under a train overpass in Alexandria, VA (2 hours away fom the auction) where 33+ foot rigs can NOT get to them, attended by some of the most ignorant uncaring employees on Earth, and to top it off: One of said employees had picking these vans clean and selling their parts right under his boss's nose, nevermind that they didn't belong to him!!

The first one I tried to pull on the wheelift was the one that he had pulled the U-joints off of and neglected to tell us about...thank God the axle fell off before I hit 95 or there somebody could have died..!! Had to drag it to a mall parking lot (sparking all the way) and come back for it later :banghead:

We had some catch on fire b/c you can't pull an automatic face forward without running the engine and putting it in neutral-NONE ran and most were missing tires, axles, bumpers, driveshafts, you name it! so there was no other way to carry them but on the bed. Oh yeah, and they all ran on natural gas, which means that they have easily punctured cheap plastic tanks.

I hope I never have to do anything like that again! :p

Looks like I hit a nerve! :p

I never understood why the carbques stay at the yards. They are freaky and there are NO parts on them that you really even want! Specially when you consider what/who might have died in it...

Damnit! Damnit! Damnit! That just remined me of something reallllly nasty on saw on TLC. They showed the body of someone that had been burnt up in a carcrash. I almost puked

Looks like I hit a nerve!

Lol

I'm sorry I ranted like that....

I don't cry all that often, but the first morning I had to work with those horrible vans was so bad that I was upset enough to let the tears flow by the end of the day :(

Here. I'll Ease Your Pain. Sit Back And Watch:

(diesel tow truck starting)

(sound of vans being loaded onto truck)

(turbo whining as the vans are pulled 250 miles out of town)

(sound of vans being thrown off the truck)

(sound of fly being unzipped)

(strange sound of tinkling water hitting the sides of the vans)

(sound of fly being zipped up)

(sound of a hammer smashing glass)

(sound of gas can being opened)

(sound of liquid being poured all over)

(sound of fuse being unwound)

(sound of fuse being tied to propane tanks under the vans)

(sound of fuse being lit)

(sound of diesel roaring to life, and zooming away at 120 MPH)

(looking in rear view mirror, and noticing the pretty fireballs)

problem solved! :)  :D ;) :) :o :shoot: :chug:  :fire:

ROTFLMAO :D

Where were you when I needed that???

(I wish my rig did 120...I've timed it-under a full load it takes more than 50 seconds to get to 60mph, sometimes as long as 3 minutes if I'm on a hill! And people wonder why truck drivers get so mad: If you cut one of us off and we have to slow down, it'll be eons before we get back up to speed! :p )

Hey Spas,

You Ever Run Across Any Cool Emblems On Cars? I Collect Them. Semi Emblems? :)

Noooooo! I love my rig! lol

Nevermind that it's automatic and slower than a turtle with arthritis ;)

We don't get in many big rigs, but I'll keep an eye out for emblems if we do!
