I agree that driver's training, in High School, should be more intense and teach more. The problem with advanced driving schools or race driving schools is that they teach people how to be better drivers. Then these 'better' drivers take to the roads and treat them like racetracks. Not everybody but I have seen a common thread among my friends who have taken these courses.
BTW I was at a pick and pull yard last weekend and saw a early nineties Mustang that had t-boned a telephone pole. It hit right on the passenger door. The car was now about a foot and a half wide at it's narrowist point!

One of my friengs in high school wrecked his Sunbird. He swerved around a stalled car and lost control. He was then t-boned square in the door and threw off the road backwards into a telephone pole. His seat broke off backwards and threw him out the back window, where he was passed out on the trunk. His girlfriend endend up in the back. He didn't have any injuries but a cut an his head, and she broke her pelvis. The passenger door bent the shifter over(it was a stick) I don't know how either of them survived after seeing the car.

My friend made it out alive from this nasty crash.... Heres his webpage...

I think thats salvageable... heh
I'm glad your friend made it out alright.

People who dont wear seatbelts are just morons... I'd like to see their face when their state mandates 5 point seatbelts in all cars =)

Also, about the racing schools and kids taking to the streets like they are race tracks... thats probably right, I hadn't really thought of that. But, I'm sure they could definetly devise a driving class that taught people how to control their cars while not making them think they are on a track when on public roads.

The kicker with that Crown Vic was that the engine still ran great! No strobes in it though :(

Jssong, your friend is really lucky! I bet the towtruck driver had a minor cardiac when he saw what he had to pull...

Wish I had taken a pic of the Ford Probe that I saw the other day. Apparently this dumb blonde and her boyfriend were celebrating buying it by drinking a bottle of Crown Royal and shooting some ******...they hit the guard rail at 80mph, flipped, and continued upside down on the rail for nearly 50 feet! And walked away from it!!! Car looked like a tree had fallen right on the hood. Used to be that pretty blue-ish purple, too :(

I have seen death, a very gross one at that. A wreck that my mom was involved in when she had her Taurus. It also involved an Isuzu (I think) pickup and a kid on an ATV.

The kid came out from a driveaway with banks on both sides so you can't see it from either direction. He was on an ATV going fast and trying to see if he could shoot across the road without getting hit, but he couldn't see if anything was coming from either direction either. Stupid game to play and that time he lost.
The truck was going one way, the kid shot out in front of him and got creamed, then got knocked into my mom's car which was coming the other way, then the truck and my mom's car hit each other head on. No time to react and hit the brakes, the vehicles hit each other so hard it knocked them both backwards and ended up with about 20 feet in between them. It broke the engine block, broke the tranny off the engine, broke the tranny in half, and broke the output shaft off the tranny in the Taurus. The ATV was about 10 feet back beyond my mom's car and the kid ended up about 10 feet in front of my mom's car.
My grandma heard that my mom was in a wreck on her scanner and told me to go check it out. I saw the kid laying there, busted all the pieces, pieces of brain hanging out of holes in his head. What I don't understand is that brown liquid was on the ground where the brains were and with all the huge cuts on the kid, no blood on the ground and almost none on his clothes. Why is that? Those are pictures I cannot forget.

Stupid kid. My mom got hurt pretty bad in that wreck. The kid was a junior in HS, so he was old enough to know better, he got what he was asking for. But my mom will never get over what happened, she was upset for a long time about it and still gets that way each year on that day.

I know it's not cool to wish death on somebody (except Osama), but I can't help feeling the way you do yeknom, everytime I see a wreck that kills somebody:

I always hope that the ass who caused it got what was coming to them...We just had a monster 3 car crash here on Wednesday that had 95 southbound completely closed off for 4 hours, when everybody was trying to get to their families for the holiday, and this numnut crossed the center divide (No easy feat-it's grassy, sloped in the middle and about 25 feet wide) whether because he fell aslepp or wasn't paying attention, I don't know. But he hit a guy heading home to his family head on and killed him, tying traffic up for miles. I hope he never drives again and has to live with that for the rest of his life. If you're falling asleep, PULL OVER till you're awake!

At The Junkyard I Work At, A 2000? Taurus Station Wagon Came In. Burned Interior, And Damage Outside. The Fire Started Inside The Car I Think Because The Engine Was Not Melted.

I Also Walk Past Daily A Very Trashed Ford Explorer. Completely Destroyed, And You Wouldn't Know It Was A Explorer, Unless You Know Your Explorers! Looks Like A 1996+ Explorer, But Hard To Tell Via The Entirely Burned Car. Still Holding Strong Though, Has About A 1200+ Pound Suzki On Top Of It. Ironically, The Suzuki On Top Is The Ones In The 80's Responsible For The Deadly Rollovers That Killed People Due To A Very Unstable, And Short Wheelbase.

And Finally, A 1980's Chrysler Car. I Think It's A Dynasty. I Call It The Fresh Kill Car, Because It Was About Hours Old From The Fire. Still Stinks Like Molten Plastic.

A 1979 T-Bird Is also At This Junkyard. Interior Is Rotted, But Engine Is Fine. The Fire Started Inside. Was Extinguished Pretty Quick Though. This Is Not A Consumed Car, Just The Interior.

Should I Take Pictures?! :D

I'd love pics

How about this blazer. I wonder if those explorers in the background had anything to do with this?

Yeah, I screwed up those pics because I dont have my good program reinstalled yet that I use to resize things. That last one is supposed to say, Chevy, Like a Rock (no, make that a briquette)

Her'es rolled 97 Mazda...It has 35's on it and a skyjacker lift. Apparently making your truck into a better 4 wheeler doesn't necessarily make you a better driver...

But some of the wrecks I pick up are downright depressing...especially if they involve explorers :(

This one's ENTIRE Pass front wheel assembly was tossed in the cargo area. Poor thing's innards were hanging out thru the gaping hole in the side and its frame was resting on its own front fender whch had crumpled up underneath it :(
