sas in my future couple of ???

so this summer i will probably be doin a sas on my truck!! yah 4 me

i will be using a ford 9" in the back and a dana 44 up front.. dont know wut gears yet but i got some time to figure that out

i want to run 37's

my ??? is if i put manual lockin hubs up front does this make my awd truck a 2 wheel drive truck until i lock those hubs....

and also has anybody made there rear a posi????(an sas'd truck not a street truck)

wouldnt a line break be better

If i can tell you anything for doing my own sas is to spend time reading in the sas threads and spending time in the many diffrent sas threads.....There is a wealth of info here....It will be to your advantage to read up....I spent a long time reading and i wish i had spent more time.....

Yes research research research. Spend a month (at least) just reading and understanding the main concepts. Don't always follow what other people have done. If you see better ways of doing something, then go for it -- as long as you understand the main concepts and know the limitations of the materials your working with, then you should be good to go.

If you want 37's with that v8 you will probably want 4.88's, and you will need to change your AWD t-case to a selectable t-case 2wd 4hi/4lo most likley from a first gen.

Yes, manual locking hubs make it 2wd untill you lock them and engage the t-case.

And dont call it a posi, posi's are for chevys. If you mean a locker/limited slip, yes, everyone and their mother has a locker. Ive got a full spool, other have selectable lockers or lunchbox lockers (search)
