I bought a 2010 Explorer a couple of weeks ago. I bought it on an as is basis. When I try the satellite radio, all 3 satellite channels give me a "sat fault" message. I subscribed to Sirius the day I bought it but I can't get it to work. Any suggestions on what I can do to determine the problem? I'm trying to figure out if it is the factory radio or the satellite tuner that is having the problem. Thanks for your input.

I agree with polizi212, KearneyExplorer. Give SiriusXM a call, and have your ESN ready so they can resend the signal and make sure your account is fully activated.

I have called Sirius and they say that the satellite receiver is the problem since I am able to receive AM/FM with no problems and still get the "Sat Fault" message. I have since cancelled the subscription and will probably just forgo the whole satellite radio thing. It was worth a shot.

Its a 8S4T-18C963-AH module? So is it a hardware or software problem?

The most common cause for this concern is corrupted software in the satellite digital audio receiver system module (SDARS) module. There is a software update with a new calibration that takes care of the issue. There was a bulletin about this also...
