ScanGauge II

I was always interested in the ScanGauge but was turned off by it's hideous looks and amber back color. I checked their website last night and they have come out with the ScanGauge II which is MUCH cooler looking, larger screen, and you can change the back light!

I've never used the device but I have heard nothing but good reviews (other than looks) on the ScanGauge I. Now that the looks have been addressed I'm hopeful this will work out.

I've seen one of the new ones. Much smaller, and easier to fit in the vehicle, and look a lot nicer. I'm waiting to see when the software and cable are available and how much they add to the price.

I wonder if it is capable of reading Ford proprietary codes? I didn't see that mentioned in the company's FAQ's.

As purchased, I don't think so (other than being able to select from like 9 different colors for the display). But it is MUCH thinner, and the cable disconnects from it. And they are supposed to come out with a cable and software so that you can attach to a computer and do data logging. In fact, I THINK the memory is in the unit, so technically that feature IS built into the new unit, but you need to cable and software. Haven't seen mention of them releasing that yet. Or a price for it. I asked them and I think they were talking $100 range for the cable and software.
