Alright so me and a couple friends are going up to carowinds today. Its been raining all night and all morning. I decide to ride with my buddy that drives a Ford Lightning. As we get on to the interstate we start to accelerate slowly, then we get on it just a bit, but not enough to catch the super charger. As we go to change lanes He loses control and we get sideways on the interstate doing about 55 to 60. Luckily he almost gets it under control but then it swing around the other way. He tries his best to get us off the interstate near the grass. He says he was on and off the gas while trying to get us under control.(which we almost did) but we think one time he might have hit it while the rpms were high and it caught the super charger. Anyways we kicked off to the right and go through all three lines on the interstate and head for the grass sideways. Well we go through the grass at about prolly 45 and he gets down to about 35 as we head into the ditch. We take out the face and about 25 yards of thick bushs. As we hit the bottom of the ditch, we get airborne and the dude behind us said we got about 5 feet off the ground coming out of the ditch. Heres the scary part, in charleston we have frontage roads ride next the interstate across the ditch. As we come out of the ditch airborn, we hit a honda civic, and took the whole right fender then the hole roof as we come across the top of it. We were all ok and no injuries accept for aking all over. My buddy only got a 76 dollar ticket for careless operation, since there were pleny of witnesses that said we didnt get on the engine. Since i know yall hate posts with no pictures, my buddy is going to get me those pictures hopefully 2morro i will post.Unfortuantely being soar wont be able to go to the Unwharrie run that i wanted to. -TJ

Just be glad you guys are all okay.
I know the feeling, sorry to hear it.

thanks, i told him when we got out of the car," i think this starts a new friendship" we laughed and now that we looked back on it we can laugh because we know that we were all alright and somebody must have been watching for us. After we hit the ditch we both jus kinda did the second seat belt thing to each other and put our free hand on each others chest. Also a scary thought, if we wouldnt have hit the civic there was one of those huge pole that hold the electrical lines, the way the truck was lined up i think we could have hit that. We are very thankful and the seat belts saved our lives. -TJ

Wow, that was quite the ride! I am glad you guys are ok. I will assume that the vehicle was totalled? Getting air in any car is not good at all for the frame and everything else.

carowinds? i work right across the street!

isnt that a 3-4 hour drive for you?

yea, we just decided to go up and have some fun. About the car being totalled. The car has to have 70% of it redone. And the car is worth 20 thousand the insurance company said, so there has to be atleast 14000 for it to be totalled, and that would include labor, it will be close as far as price, we are hoping is supercharger is screwed :D to add to that price. TO bad that air bags didnt deploy, those are like 3000 by them selves each. -TJ

i knew civics were good for something...

jk. that sucks, good thing no one was hurt.

sounds like someone must have had some bad tires with low tread, or there was a ton of water on the road. My buddy had an 02 Lightning, and I was always amazed with how well the tires stuck to the wet road, even with ~355 HP at the rear wheel. Good thing nobody was hurt, and hopefully everything will work out well for everyone.

actually his tires were pretty new prolly only 10 miles on them, but none of his tires matched, odd but never asked him why. They are all the same size just different brand, but he might have bought the truck like that. -TJ
