Scratches on the Hodd

What's the best, sure-fire thing to remove hair-line scratches. Previous owner wasn't too carefully washing/drying so I've got minute scratches all over the hood...nowhere else, just the hood that I can see.

What's the best product/method for getting rid of them. I've tried the usual: rubbing compounds, ScratchOut...no luck.

Thanks.

Have you tried buffing them out of your hodd??? :D

I used Color Magic a few years back. If you still see it stock in auto parts store you might want to give it try. Worked for me.

Go to Pep Boys and get a bottle of 3M's Swirl Mark Remover. It's only $10. If you put a little bit of effort, you'll notice your scratches will gradually go away. Do you have a buffer or better yet, an orbital buffer?? If so, your life will be a whole lot easier.

Once you're done buffing out the scratches, give your truck a good wax job. Remember to use microfiber towels. They won't scratch your paint as easily. You can pick up a pack of microfiber towels at Wal-Mart for like $5. Good luck!!!!
