Lots of the parts are labled export ( even the fuel tank ! ) I can't think why the fuel tank is different.
Thats life I guess. They did fit the x with goodyears not firestones..... so can't be all bad. Wish I had colomn change though. When I was in Florida I loved it more space... less to get in the way!!!

"I can't think why the fuel tank is different. Thats life I guess" -- Probably because our tanks hold gallons and yours holds litres  (sorry couldn't resist) That's odd thought that Ford would put the transmission selector on your console instead of the steering wheel. Undoubtably it has to do with yours being a RHD. I guess it was easier to just stick it through the floor rather than create a Mirror of our LHD system. Maybe Ford was affraid that if they stuck in on the right hand side of your steering wheel you would have to roll the window down to get it out of Park  (sorry couldn't resist again) I guess they never though of putting it on the left side. I'm sure it has something to do with being cheaper to only have to manufacture one complete steering column assembly as opposed to two.

Some of us oldies still put in galls (proper ones)
They did leave the cut out on the column though but why do it. I doubt that you even need a longer cable.
Still its nice blasting with you all...

You're funny man.

I attempted the reactivation procedure 3 different times with NO luck,

Amy ideas?

I read that Ford put in the seat-belt chime in either 2000 or 2001. I don't remember were I read it but the procedure that Howard posted looked like te procedure that someone else posted. Maybe the expored Explorers got the deactible seat belt chime a few years before the US version? How about someon with a 2001, what does your manual say about deactivating the chime? My '97 doesn't chime. Only a red light on the dash for a couple of minutes and then it goes out. I wouldn't like the chime if it chimed every time I sat in my car with the engine idleing and my seat belt unfastened. I would be disconnecting mine to if it did.

I'll put the procedure for my '01 up later today. My chime only goes off when you first start the vehicle. If you don't buckle your seatbelt, the chime stops, but the red light on the dash stays on as long as the seatbelt is unbuckled.

For the record, I always wear my seatbelt, and no-one rides with me unless they have a seatbelt on.:D

Does anyone know if the '99 actually has achime?

Thanks....

Yes Al, my 99 limited does have a chime. I disconnected the seat belt part of the chime by unplugging the connector under the seat. The seatbelt light still flashes, and I always wear my belt. The chime still works if the keys are left in, if it's not running and the drivers door is opened.

Supercharger procedure
Eat lots of beans
use 4" pipe from.... and other end in intake
This will boost etc........
You guys are funny..:D

If you guys read Aldive's original post he said that he wants to REACTIVATE the charm, not turn it off.

Here ya go Al, hope this works for you.

Here is how to activate the belt minder.

Before you start check these things first.

1. set parking brake
2. set gear shift in P or N
3. ignition is in the off position
4. all doors closed
5. lights are off

To reactivate do as follows:

1.Turn ignition to the on(run) position.
2. Wait for the safety belt warning light to go off.(1-2 minutes)

Steps 3-5 must be completed within 60 seconds or you will have to repeat the procedure.

3. Buckle and unbuckle the belt three times, third time leaving the belt unbuckled.
4. Turn on the head lights, turn off head lights.
5. Buckle and unbuckle the belt three times, third time leaving the belt unbuckled.

After step five the belt warning lighht will go on for 3 seconds.

6. Within 7 seconds of the light going off, buckle and unbuckle the belt.
7. Comfirmation of enabling the belt minder is provided by the belt warning light flashing 4 times per second for 3 seconds.

Procedure is complete.

This procedure will also deactivate the belt minder if you chose to do so.

I trie this procedure several times to reactivate the chime with no luck.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.......

Well dang I can tell you that the auto door lock or seat belt chime procedure won't work for a 93 Sport. I went outside just to test it out and nada!

:( I just tried both of those on my 96 XL, no go for both. Too bad.

I recently tried this again with no luck. The chime comes on for about 5 seconds when the key is turned on with the belt ( driver ( off ,,, you can buckel the belt and chime dies. The chime never comes on otherwise... the dash light does work as normal.

Any new ideas?

Thanks .........
