On my 98 XLT, the driver's seatbelt suddenly locks-up. This usually happens during a turn, but occasionaly happens when I'm going straight. As far as I know, the other seatbelts never do this.
Does anyone know why this is, or what I can do to fix it?

The seat belt locks when a certain amount of G-force is applied. In sharp turns and rapid decelaration

Or your breaks might be locked up?

Yeah. The seat belt locks in the Ex. are inertial, so when the truck lost verticality (in a sudden stop, for instance) an internal ratchet type mechanism inside locks the belt.
Also, ocassionally the lock mechanism will be activated during a ride over a rough road.
Is possible that the mechanism in your Ex. being a little worned, so becomes more sensitive.

I don't know for sure, but is possible to swap the driver's and the passanger's seat belts.

Good luck:chug:

sorry about the double post, I was having some trouble doing it at first.
The seatbelt doesn't just lock-up during rapid decelaration or sharp quick turns, thats normal for most cars. It locks-up during slow, broad turns, and when I'm going straight at a constant speed as well.
