I'm trying to remove the smaller section of my 2nd crown bench seat in my 2p15 limited explorer. The latch on the inner side of my seat is locked down. When u pull the lever or tug the fabric loop in the back there is no resistance. Becfor I go opening up the seat is there an an easier way to get it to release? Thank you !

I had to use a lot of force to make mine unlatch.
Holding the lever up, reached down and pulled it up at the same time.

Sprayed some white grease on the floor points to make it easier next time.

I'm not sure what you mean by "2nd crown bench seat". (2nd row probably). The bench seat in the 2015 Explorer consists of 2 sections with a 40 and 60 split.
Are you trying to remove one of those sections (40) from the vehicle or are you just trying to fold it?

Mine is doing the same thing - I can slide both sections of the bench backward and forward. I can also fold the headrest and seat back down into the cargo position. However, when I pull the loop to flip the seat to access the third row, it feels like the "outer" latch is releasing but the "inner" latch is stuck. It's this was for both parts of the bench. The outer latches feel like they're releasing but the "inner" latches are tight. I tried the suggestions above without any luck. I really want to be able to get this fixed. Been this way for about 10 months now.

The thread starter has disappeared without any further comments. Another "hit and run' poster as I call them. If no one comes back with any other suggestions, why not take it to the dealer or independent garage to see if they can fix it or suggest a fix rather than having to continue to deal with the issue?

I've looked at the replacement part on the internet and found that there is a cable attached to the outer latch release mechanism. It would appear that the cable attaches to the inboard 2nd row seat latch. So, either the cable has broken or the attachment to the inboard latch cable has loosened. This would explain why the outer latch works while the inboard latch does not.

Well, I had the same issue with my 2nd row not folding back up or flipping forward. Brought it to Ford and it will be almost $1900 to fix because the whole seat mechanism broke. Just wanted to put that out there in case you tried as hard as I did to get it to unstick itself.
