Selecting an Explorer

a transaxle is a transmission which is built into an axle. this is something which is found in front wheel drive cars. explorers have transmissions. the seller probably meant to say it had a new transmission.

Better explained than anything I said. I looked the car up, and the seller is a ford dealership. Obviously that ford dearship doesn't know what they're doing then.
Or maybe the dealer used to work at a honda dealer! :D

Hahaha.... I dont think the salesman knew much mechnical info... as he argued with me about a CD player being in the car and I'm like... but there is a button right here that says CD player..... and he is like.. there is??? oh well... then I opened up the centre console and I'm like... here is the 6 CD player !!! and here is the Cartridge LOL....

So thats ok.. he doesnt Have to be a mechanic I spose as long as he isnt the one working on the car then I feel ok lol...

WOW kizzie, that's one hell of a "ROO-bar" you got there!!! hahaha you Australians...

hahah thanks and it has saved me 3 times.... 2 roos and a new licensee who had his license for 4 days then decided to pull out from his lane and push me to the other side of the road!!! Anyways she is getting fixed while we are here in the USA and will have a new $3400 AUD bullbar on her :P

PS:
Where in S.Africa you from, one of my best friends was from Maritius (I think thats how you spell it) and yes she was white too LOL!)

bullrush...
They sold explorers in south africa?! I guess so.
WOW kizzie, that's one hell of a "ROO-bar" you got there!!! hahaha you Australians...
And americans, like myself, go for the half-ass brush guard (compared to those "roo-bars")...ah...it still works and looks tough.

So thats ok.. he doesnt Have to be a mechanic I spose as long as he isnt the one working on the car then I feel ok lol...
Only bad thing is, is when you have a guy like that working on cars, as a full-time job... :( .
Just like the time my dad had a Ford T-bird police interceptor (fast as HELL!!) and the ford mechanic cross-threaded the oil pan drain bolt. Hope that guy still isn't working at the ford dealer!

Ohhhh dont talk to me about bad mechanics and or anyone auto that touches my cars or previous cars ... I have had a few... I have come to the conclusion that if you want something done right and properly and no shortcuts.. DO IT YOURSELF. It will definately take longer and more than likely you will break other stuff along the way (but experience is what counts RIGHT???)But at least you know its done properly. But yes I give up on most mechanics!!!

Experience is what counts. And your right,
if you want something done right, do it yourself
At least my mechanic, and service advisor at ford seem to do stuff right. :D I don't have the room to work on my 05, and those running boards...enough said on that.
But, all custom work, I do myself.

kizzie, Do you know anyone with a Ford Ranger Wildtrak... I'm curious about how good they are... I want one of those rangers really bad!
Incase you need to refresh your memory here's a picture

The ute pictured above is nice looking. Ford needs to get some of those australian cars up here to america.
I just wish I could get a ranger wildtrak....If I had the money I'd import one.
How's adjusting from RHD (right hand drive) to LHD (left hand drive)?

haha well ALL was going well but day before yesterday i went to turn from a road onto the left of the street not the right on the left of the street if you know what i mean!! And roundabouts are a bit scary because you are wanting to give way to your right but you should be giving way to your left and looking but its getting more comfortable lol I just gotta retrain my brain for the past 6 yrs of driving that i have done LOL, then 18months later go back to Aust and do it all over again!

I heard america wont import alot of cars due to speed restrictions or emissions control! Amazing!!

From Durban Kwa-zulu Natal..SHARK country... Ha ha ha, yea just seems some people think africa only has one race living there, just spreading the knowledge...

YES !!! I did!!!!...but i couldn't bring "Dora" home till i had insurance....so I came home and bought insurance so I shall be picking her up tomorrow when my money transfers through from my Australian Account!! Yipppee!!!!

AND I got him to put two new tyres on the rear to match (size and brand) the new ones on the front.
