Separating Tail light lens from housing

I need to remove the lens from the housing with out damaging the the lens. I will need to reseal the lens to the housing and whats the best way to do this? I would like to try something on a old set of lights that are broken. I would like to see the results and maybe try them with a good pair of lights. Thanks for the help.

tried it twice thru heating and re-heating with a heat gun.. nope.. wont budge.. best way would be to cut it apart.. carefully..
