Service eng soon

After spend almost 6,000 to replace the eng my 02 explorer is hesitating when shifting into 2nd gear. I do feel a slight miss and the service eng light came on around 2 weeks ago. Any ideas what it is? I'm leaving for vaca in 2 weeks and hoping its something that can wait till I get back, but I don't want to break down on the road!

Get an OBDII scanner and pull the codes. I wouldn't leave for a trip without checking the codes. You should be able to have it scanned at an auto parts store.

Any good will by the shop that replaced the engine, to take a look at it?

$6000 USD? Brand new or remanufactured engine?
