Shackle Install

I have used the search feature and am not getting the answer I am looking for, even when pictures are involved, for I am not familiar with the underside of a vehicle.

So from what I have read and tried to understand, to install these Warrior Shackles I will need to jack up the car on both sides a the same time using 2 jack stands...is this correct?

Next, do I place a jack under the axle or not? And do I need to take off the tires?
This install seems pretty easy, but I am concerned with the pressure exerted by the springs...when I unbolt will it fly out of place?

Here: "now.. u need to jack one side of the truck up... i will post a pic of the jack point.. just for a little FYI you will jack where the leaf springs mount in the front..."

(What jack do you do this with?)

"Next u will need to put the jack Stand there so you can take the floor jack down.. after that is done.. you can goto the next step.."

(I don't understand, why do you jack it up just to remove it and replace it with another?)

1) you can use the jack that came with the truck if you don't have anything else, use the frame as your jacking point.

2) because jacks are dangerous. Jack stands are MUCH safer.

Use a jack to raise the side and place a jackstand just in front of the front spring hanger on both sides. Then use the jack to support the axle and start working on the shackles.

So I place a jackstand on BOTH sides if front of the spring hangars? I cannot just do one side?

jack up one side... put a jack stand on the frame to hold that side of the car up.
with the side off the ground and the wheel off which makes it easier to wrk on jack up the axle a little to remove any pressure remove the bolts holding the hanger on install the new hanger and reverse the order. if you can not understand that you must be joking about this and playing a joke right?

That cleared it up...this was not a joke.

I have never worked on a car, I know nothing about them. I do not know the names of the parts and tools you speak of so it was hard for me to understand.

The shackles came to the shop today, and I had someone put them on. They said there was no way I could have done it, for they had to use a hydrolic press to get the bolts out they were so rusted on there. The old shackles were also so rusted they had to cut them off.

Something that should have taken 30 min to do took 2 hours...it looks good though!

hydralic press? rofl.

my bolts were rusted too, but I have access to a hammer, so that solved my problem.

It wasn't an auto shop, it was a machine shop where there are presses
