I am wondering if the shaft and screw mod could be done on your own. That is that I have heard people say they sent throttle bodies out to get it done and I am wondering if it is possible to do it yourself.

I was looking at mine when I had it off to clean and noticed how the screws are "pinched". Would it be possible to squeeze them back into shape, remove them, shorten them and then replace them after you have split the shaft. Is this something that could be done on your own or are special tools/parts required?

I started to do the shaft and screw mod on my throttle body and ran into a slight problem. The right up that has been done for this mod was done on an OHV and the SOHC throttle body is not the same. If someone can help me out I will post a full right up on how everything goes.

The problem I am having is removing the shaft from the throttle body once the plate is removed. Here are some pics......

If anyone can help me with how to remove the shaft from the throttle body housing it would be a great help. Usually I would just figure a way to get it out, the problem is this is my only vehicle and I cant risk breaking the throttle body. I hope someone can help! Thanks

Which write-up are you talking about? Mine?

Once you have the butterfly out of the shaft, just pull the shaft out of the body....

Pull from what side? I thought that, but I just dont want to start yanking on the thing. And thanks for your great write up bro, definitly helped.

Pull it out the side that has the throttle linkage on it....NOT the side that had the Throttle Position Sensor on it...

So grab that tab with some needle nose and gently pull? How do I know everything is lined back up when I got to put everything back.
