Hi, This happened to my auto last winter. It would only shift if I let off the gas a little while driving and the O/D light flashed. It was quite expensive as I don't know how to work on a transmission myself. I was told I needed to have the bands replaced and a new torqure converter. It ended up being 1300 big ones. I took it to Ford first and they said it would cost 3100, what a joke those guys are.
