There is no connection between HUBs (auto or manual) and how the Transfer case is engaged. As such you can have auto or manual hubs and engage the T-C with the shift motor, by hand with a pair of piers, with the shifter, or with a manual T-Case shifter and its all good
Why manually shift your case laying in mud or snow when needing 4wd? Just fix your shift motor or by a manual transfer case or buy the E1354 manual conversion, it will get old real quick shifting into 4wd that way.
eh the only problem i had when doing that in the snow was my shirt came up when i layed down and my muffin top was in the snow and it got cold.
i like it but i do want a manual tcase with an in cab shifter at some point.
No there isnt. i just wanna prevent a headache from happening tho. i may try n find an in-cab shifter from a junkyard and try n fit it on. plus 4x4 at a push of a button is cheesey
You can't just a manual shift linkage and put it on the E1354 the Manual 1354 has the shifter different. If you find a manual shift transfer case just grab it.
I was thinking about putting in a small trap door to shift mine from inside the cab. I just have not had the time to look into it and see how it would work. Much like the trap door for the gas tank sending unit I've seen on this forum.
You guys that want to retain your E-1354 and manually shift it may want to search the site, a year or so ago I seen a 2nd gen sport that a guy made his own manual ratcheting system at home to shift the 4X4 and came up beside the driver seat.
