Wanted Shocks for 05 Ex. XLT

Can anyone help me? I am looking for after market shocks for my explorer. I have a 05 Explorer Xlt. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks again for any future postings.

it all depends what kind of ride are you aiming for? do you want a stiffer more responsive ride or a smoother more comfortable ride (im going stiffer for more aggressive driving personally)

OEM's are stiff to say the least. Only choice i had at the time, about $80 each.

I personally prefer a smoother more comfortable ride. The reason I asked is because I recently purchased some 3" spacers from a friend who got it for his 2002 explorer. He traded his explorer and had no use for them so I bought it for 50 bucks. I took it to a auto shop and they said in order to install the spacers they'd need longer shock absorbers. My friend said he ordered it from universalcarlifts.com. I don't know whether to chuck'em or keep'em. Any thoughts? Thanks CHEESYPOOFS and jrford for your postings I really do appreciate'em.

They are feeding you a line. The 3rd Gen Ex's dont have shocks they have struts. Now you will not need and do not want to get longer ones because if you do then you will have the same problem that some are having with the 3" spacer and that is the hub will rub the springs.

Hope this helps and here is a pick of the front of mine with 2" spacers so you can get the idea.

the spacers he is talkin about go on the bottom of the factory spring not lik the road bully spacers
