hi
i have problems with my 91 explorer eddy bauer. i think its a short circuit problem. first, my stereo used to work fine but know i cant ear the music. it looks like it works fine i can play the cds and everything and i hear the peeb when i skip the songs but no music. and when i turn the volume to zero i hear a loud buzz in the speakers. a week or two ago i started to notice my amp gage was moving when iddling. yesterday my alternator started to whiine.

im pretty sure its a stock amp, i changed my alternator but i still have the stereo problem
don't worry about the green wire, its nothing

We still have no idea what your setup is like. Right now all I can see from what you have said is that you have no sound but the head unit appears to be working, and you "might" have an amp. There is obviously a break in the signal chain between the head and the speakers. Could be anything, fried head, bad wiring, bad amp or connections to it, etc...

Do some troubleshooting, pull the radio out and check that the wiring is all done properly. Check the fuses, etc. Pictures of the wiring might help too. This thread is not getting much attention because nobody knows where to go with such a small amount of information.
