Should I get this 3" bodylift for my 92 EB?

Well, you obviously don't know Dye. He frequents the audio/lighting forum a lot, so I doubt he's gonna be hitting the trails very hard. As for the bedliner, Brian, I did it on my plastics, gives me a chub everytime I walk outside :p: Herculined for her pleasure

See.....shadow knows me :D I will also ad that this explorer is sportin' 2 15" Kicker L7's and a flipdown monitor, 2 batteries, one Kinetik, 3600 watts of juicy power from my Hifonics amp, and its all being told what to do by a lovely Sony headunit...nothing that would win a competition, but its the loudest around here.

hey , don't worry about the strength of the body lift, got any questions,, look at gmanpaints rig, the black hole,, he wheels it pretty hard,, and he has no suspension lift, just a tt springs, a body lift and 33's,, and he hasn't even had to retighten the bolts on the body lift yet,,

Shadow...I was just reading your thread about the BL.....
F*CK! That looks like its gonna be a B*TCH todo!

Im gonna double check and make sure hes doing it all haha.

Im scared though that with my rust bucket right now somethings gonna break, or a brake lines gonna bust or something...

Haha, it's really not too bad, you need to allot the proper amount of time though, that's the key. Mine took about 5 days on a slow pace (with one of those days being a half day, due to dropping my truck on my hand). Slow and steady wins the race. Follow my guide and you've got nothing to fear!

Okay, so the body lift probably wont break.. but it still weakens the truck a little. as long as you keep an eye on it for wear you'll be fine. I guess i'm just kind of a perfectionist/purist/**** or whatever.. i like doing things the right way and body lifts seem like the wrong way. but it sounds like he wont be wheelin' hard and just wants to make it look more beefy, in which case, it'd probably be fine (of course to people like me it will look like a jimmy rigged/body lift, as opposed to a proper/suspension lift) but like said it'll clear larger tires.

Hold out for the cash for the reasons that are very obvious. Get at least one of your vehicles badass and reliable instead of three that aren't. Trading and bartering creates tangents, IMHO.

Celly, you know I love you to death, and I may be drunk as hell right now, but at the same time, there's no point in getting a suspension lift if he's not looking to go offroad. A bodylift will suffice, no problem whatsoever, for giving brian a more aggresive stance, will keeping it within budget. Everything will go fine, no worries at all!

Just out of curiosity, how much would I be lookin at for a suspension lift to get 3-4"?
I do need new shocks anyways...

Shadow, my point was clearly just that he should sell this HU for cash and sink it into fixing one or more of his vehicles that are in dire need of repair rather than taking on a mod that seemingly has come completely out of left field.

You must be drunk to miss that point. :p:

Does anyone even know if the PA 883 will even work on a 1st Gen Explorer? Who here has a 1st Gen that has installed the PA 883 BL?

I'm no expert on the 1st Gens. I own two 2nd Gen Explorers. ShadowRaven, your Explorer is a 2nd Gen.

Brian, double and triple check what body lift is right for a 1st Gen.

He said they bought the kit for his brothers 94 which is a 1st gen...

That doesn't mean that they bought the correct one. Ask them for the Manufacturer and Part #.

I agree with Celly, sell the HU for cash, fix the tranny on the 95 and sell it, use that money to fix the tranny on the LS and whatever else it needs, then use the rest to make a payment to your granma

Haha way to remember :p
no one wants to buy it though, I've only been offered a trade for a POS phase linear flipdown, and then an iPod touch which are now going for 195$ brand new.

Put it on ebay, I bet it will sell there.

You'll definitely get some hits on the bay, no doubt. I agree with everyone else, this is just too shady for my taste. And yes, Celly, I must have been too out of it, I barely remember posting that lol! I guess that's what happens when you drink for 12+ hours straight

How good are you with a little fab? there's usually a cheap way to do a lift which doesn't involve making it crappy.. for instance, leaf spring rear you can just modify the spring mounts and gain some lift, chances are you're stock shocks will work fine (i know my stock shocks in my '93 extend out waaaaay extra far) and you're stock brake hose will probably be fine as well. i know its a bronco in the video, but the suspension is similar, you could probably do something like this...

for lifting the front end, if you're skilled a little you can fab up some extended radius arms and that will cost very little (just extend you're stock ones using some DOM tubing, been there done that... its easy) only thing you'll need to buy is pitman arm, AP brackets, and springs.. possibly shocks and longer brake lines.

i'll be lifting my '91 soon (about 4 inches) and i plan on doing it for under $500, having extended radius arms and being able to jump it without breaking.. when i do I'll do a writeup or video writeup on how i end up doing it. for me, it's easier to figure out how to do a suspension lift than it is to do a body lift with bunch of pita rusty body mounts etc.

Sell the HU for money and use it to fix up your truck. My 2 cents.

I forgot about the 1st offer of like 220$ I think which wont get me anything I need, I would probably keep it with my money from work and just give the usual 25$ a week towards the LS, rather than giving it all up at once...

Idk, im having 2nd thoughts now, I really wanna do the BL, but some say it weakens everything, others say dont waste your time or money on it, PLUS the fact that im scared that when we do this, im gonna need a whole lotta new parts because mines so rusted on the undercarriage.

I might just go with the guy whos got the iPod Touch + 100$ if anything, if I dont get a cash offer, or I might just tell the guy I want rotors, pads, and something else.....I would say ball joints, but I havent the slightest clue on how todo those, but with all that, all id need todo are shocks lol.
