Please post and info, pros and cons. the color, intensity. wattage and any info relating to these three different lightbulbs for my headlights. which one will give me the brightest color. and if it does is there a downside to it. sorry guys also compare eurolights with the other three

go to www.suvlights.com they have a comparison chart.

'eurolights' are headlights for european spec cars, [usually h4 bulbs] aren't they?

if this is some wannabe bulb company i would stay away.

philips,osram,sylvania,narva,hella are a SAFE bet.

I purchased a set of the Eurolights, and was not happy with them. I feel the general consensus from the comments on the forum ar as follows:

PIAA - Brighter than stock, BUT very Pricey.
Silverstars - Brighter than stock, BUT more reasonably priced.
Nokya - Possibly brighter than stock, not as good as the above, but lesser priced than the above.

Here's my opinions on the different brands of bulbs:

PIAA: Very expensive, doesn't give off a very white light.

Eurolite: "Xenon", which seems to be synonymous with "blow out in 6 months." I've had two sets of Eurolite bulbs, the first set lasted 6 months and the second lasted 4.

Noyka, Hiper Industries, and any other Japanese off brand bulb: These bulbs will either melt your wiring, explode in your headlight housing, or blow out prematurely, whichever comes first.

Silverstars: Best bulb for the money. Still not cheap at approx. $22 per bulb, but these give off the brightest whitest light in my opinion. They also burn at a stock temperature so you don't have to worry about your wiring melting or anything like that.

yah i had some nokyas and one of em' f'n blew out. The glass blew off of the metal part and then melted to my housing. That was a ***** to get out. I take em' back and the ahole gives me a new set. Like why would i want this crap again? Needless to say, I put my old silverstars back in and am happy as a clam

I just put some Silverstars in and am very pleased. They were only a few bucks more than stock and are IMO about 20% better. Not as good as the expensive PIAAs, but a good value.

I have the PIAA superwhites and I'm not impressed. They look nearly the same as stock. High beams still suck. I just bought a pair of Silverstars and as soon as it warms up a bit I'm going to install them.

Overall I'm disappointed with the Explorer's lighting - our 2002 Camry does a better job of lighting up the road! :(

EO,

Almost every vehicle 2000+ has better lighting than the Explorer. Reflector technology has improved greatly in the past few years, and prices have also come down. New Explorers have much better lighting. Compared to many vehicles the same age and older, X lights aren't too bad.

I guess I can't complain too much about the lows, as long as my fogs are on too (which they always are). But I really think the highs are abysmal! I guess that's why people here add a lot of aftermarket lights. :)

You got it ;)

I don't like the highs very much either, and I always have my fogs on at night.

One reason my truck is an electrical nightmare to most people  Matt Adams recently named me Dr. Candlepower ;)

i hated the PIAA superwhites Xtreme white. they cost a ton of money and really sucked....i now have $20 xenons that are stock wattage and they are whiter than the PIAAs. other people like the PIAAs but i really hated them. i think i might try out the silverstars sometime....or just add some auxiliary lights

I just put in my PIAA lights and all i have to say is WOW. They are worth it. But I also have a 02 dodge Dakota so that might be why. :D I like them alot and they will probibaly be the only bulbs i will buy for my headlights.

H4/9003 Size for an 93' X right?

I think it's 9004.

chew12

there is NO american spec explorer that takes an h4 bulb, i wish there was!

if you have a sport it may be a 9007

peter

I think early models take 9004s, second gens take 9007.

hey its buddy again...i just tried the SILVERSTARS on my bros chrysler sebring...they suck they suck they suck...his old sylvania were the EXACT SAME INTENSITY AND COLOR. i couldn't believe it...i paid 20 bucks for the silverstars and they were the same exact thing. anyways...i tried another type called APCS... they were much better however i still got the yellow tint. they both gave me yellow tints and were both stock wattages. he uses 9007 and 9006 for fogs. anyways...all i gotta say is that...i want something blue..or atleast white...all the bulbs i tried were yellow tinted and the APCS although brighter, were still yellow. I am going to try EUROLITE FUSIONS which are supposed to be good and have a blue tint...they also make EUROLITE SUPER PLASMA which are purple tinted. don't know. maybe i'll never get that close to HIDs and might just consider HIDs although they are very expensive...OR BETTER YET JUST GET A BMW 7 SERIES (the new model)...yea right!!

Walmart has GE bulbs that have a blue tint. They should be kinda good since they're GE, but I haven't tried them.

To me, blue lights don't look anything like HIDs, so why would you want them? The clear, focused intensity of HIDs just isn't there, and surely the blue coating filters out useful light. To each his own, I guess, but I think they look cheap. Although I'll admit today's blue lights are an improvement over those god-awful turquoise lights that first hit the market about 2 years ago!

Speaking of BMWs, does anyone know how the inner headlights on the new 5-series achieve that "ring of light" look - that's one of the coolest looking effects I've seen.

Anyway, back to Explorers - I'd rather go for a brighter white light. Too bad there's no improved aftermarket lenses or reflectors.
