SilverStar zxe vs. SilverStar Ultra

Hello folks!
Just got my 2011 XLT. Time for 1st minor upgrade. Bulbs.

Debating on SilverStar zxe vs. SilverStar Ultra (https://www.sylvania.com/en-us/products/automotive/Pages/compare-automotive-products.aspx). Any experience w/ both? Preference?

Then whichever model I pick, I plan to match the fog lights (https://www.sylvania.com/en-us/appl...ulbs.aspx?year=2011&qual=55&model=751&make=30)

remember to check the price vs. bulb life. a lot of comments on the bulb sites
about 1 year for the top tier bulbs...bit short

(these are halogen replacements for ExLtd).

Changing the bulbs is a great cautious first step. IMO i'd say go HID and "Set it and forget it" You are going to do the HID anyway eventually, may as well do it.

However, is there any reason you arent considering HID as the first and only step? the $50 average you will spend is just money down the drain when you decide to do the HID upgrade, may as well put it torwards a good and quality HID kit and be the end of it.

I am also seeking the whitest and brightest replacement bulb.
(I do not want to go the HID route)

OK, thanks. I don't know if anyone has physically compared all three. I used the Phillips X-treme Power Bulbs in my '09 Highlander and was very happy with them. So much so that when I got my 2011 Limited with the HID, I was very disappointed with their output.
My lease is up March 2015 so I'm waiting to see what the 2015 Explorer will look like. Saw pics of the 2015 Lincoln MKC and it is a very interesting looking vehicle.

I'm using Sylvania Ultrastars in my fogs on my soon-to-be-traded-in 2012 Limited with HID. (pretty good match)
I'm trying to read all the threads on the halogen bulb replacements for my new Sport..........
The PIAA's seem highly regarded, just trying to figure if anybody can compare with the others bulbs.
