SiriusXM / Travel Link Renewal

Just got off the phone with Sirius. Could not get the deals you folks were able to negotiate here. They were almost too comfortable to let my free trial period lapse. Is anyone paying the rate that is printed on the letter? Did you receive any offers after your initial period ended?

Thanks.

They called me before it was to expire and tried to re-sign me and I said no, not for 12.95 a month I'll let it expire.
It did and lo and behold 2 weeks afterwards I got an e-mail offering 12 months for the price of 6. No charge to activate the radio again, which was 15.00. After all was said and done I got a year for 89.95 including all taxes.
Just hold out, they'll come up with some type of offer for you.

Has anyone here gone with a lifetime plan? If so - how much did you pay? When I inquired last week I was quoted $774 for the basic package and $874 for the premium.

Do you have to register with them before the trial expires? Will they contact you if you do nothing?

A more important question would be:

Now that my sub is over, how do I remove it from the audio sources? I sadly know the answer...

was the serious active when you bought your vehicles? I just bought a demo explorer and the sirius was active.

I noticed the card in the manual, but not sure if mine is running on the free trial or the dealer account, since it was a demo.

not really sure how to check either.

may just wait to see if it stops and then try and get the free trial.

Can anyone confirm if you can only subscribe to Traffic? I use that a lot on my Nav.

As for the rest of the service: the sound quality is so bad that I hate listening to it. (that's what ~34kbps compression gets you)

In the MyFord, MyLincoln Touch Supplement there is a section on Sirius. If I were you I would call the number listed for Sirius and ask then about your situation. You will need to provide them with the ESN (Electronic Serial Number) of your system. Their number is 1-888-539-7474.
I ordered my Limited and the subscription was active when I picked it up from the dealer.
Also, welcome to the Forum Fredridge. :wavey:

Checking out the SiriusXM page, it states that the Travel Link services are available with or without a Sirius audio subscription.

As for the audio quality, I have to agree, and I find the local HD Radio stations have better sound quality than the Sirius.

Jumpervb, you were correct my friend. The offer took 7 days to arrive. Patience was indeed a virtue.

Thanks again.

My free 6 month trial ended last month, and I didn't renew, but I'm still getting the Sirius signal. I don't know why. I found out by accident when I hit the Sirius button by mistake. A little message come up saying that the subscription is expired, and to call a certain phone number to activate. Then that message goes away, and I'm still able to listen.

Do you think I'll somehow be charged for this?

I don't see how they can charge you for it. The 6 months was free. If you did not agree to an extended subscription of some kind and provide them with a credit card account, how can they charge you for it? Perhaps this is just a short term extension to try and get back on board with their message. I would't worry about it and just enjoy the music while it lasts.:)

Mine ended back in July. I have rec'd offers of 6 mos for $20 with no activiation fee.

with our 6 month free subscription, does that include access through the sirius xm app on the phones like the iphone?

i have heard people saying they were able to get around $7 per month type deals... if I can get it around that then I will probably sign up.

Mine just recently ended. I called them and got an offer of basically $10 a month that I declined. I'll either hold out for a better option, or just add on to my Dad's account.

That sounds like a pretty good deal! Canada, right? Does that include traffic, weather, etc by any chance?

No, just the normal package. We can't get the traffic and weather up here for some reason. Here's the funny thing. I didn't renew. I jumped in the X after seeing the dude say he was still getting his. I pressed the screen on the Sirius button and voila. I have it. The subscription is not active warning still comes up. However, I hit the cancel button and free radio. Rock on. I'll post up a vid. It's funny. Seeing I'm in Canackistan they'll probably be reading my posts and cut it off. It was off for a month. Are they having a free trial right now? Now where's my tinfoil hat.

This is exactly what's going on with me.

http://seekingalpha.com/article/293891-a-bullish-case-for-sirius-xm

After reading this I'm thinking the rates will go up as the guy stated at $14.95

I just got a letter in the mail and it stated

1. One month 12.95
2. Quarterly 38.95
3. One Year 129.95 with 3 months free
4. Three Years 389 with 6 months free

Is this a good deal?

Would you wait or call and negotiate? I got until October, but I am already supposed to have a 3 month free additional after that...I think.
