About 3 weeks after my trial ended, I got a letter offering 12 months for $77. The fine print says that it will automatically renew at the end of 12 months for full price - unless I cancel.
Also, I can add my spouses account to mine, and save him 30% off the regular price.

i just renewed for $108.00 for 12 months, but that's with a multi-radio subscription. the price is total with music royality fee and taxes.

1. One month 12.95
2. Quarterly 38.95
3. One Year 129.95 with 3 months free
4. Three Years 389 with 6 months free

Is this a good deal?

Would you wait or call and negotiate? I got until October, but I am already supposed to have a 3 month free additional after that...I think.
Not a good deal - You should be able to get close to $77 / year.
You will only get the better deals after you let it expire. I got ~$100 for a year, including the travel link that is $24 / year.

Just got a call from Sirius. She gave me "special deal" 1 year for $129 or 2 years for $258. Same pricing as the letter I got last week. Subscription expires in a couple of weeks. Will just wait for the "real" deal...

V2.11
I also received a call about renewing my Sirius radio service. They said nothing about Travel link service until I asked and that was going to be additional charge.

What is the Sync/Sirius/Travel link service going to cost per year?

I informed them that I was going to wait until they straighten out their Travel link service. I explained that several users have also been having Weather and Fuel prices update issues.

I also informed them that I was not interested in renewing anything until they improved their Travel Link and help line support. My radio service expires on Oct 15. I can only assume that also includes the Travel Link service.

The last time I had a problem with the weather and fuel prices, the Sirius help line could not fix problem. With suggestion from this forum and as a last resort pulled fuse 29 (8/29/2011) to allow system to reboot. This appeared to fix the travel link issues and have had no problem since.

What was causing the problem in August? Were we being BETA tester?

I have been monitoring the forums and have not seen any recent post on the Travel link issues in September.

Has any other user seen a difference in how their Travel Link service has been working recently?

Sirius Renewal

We chose not to renew our Sirius service after expiration. After several calls from Sirius, and lots of different rates offered, (most of them were unheard of), we finally agreed on $300 for 3 years. Sirius service is very negotiable, I guess it depends on who you speak with and what kind of service they are offering that particular day!!

My travel link has been working much better the last couple weeks. I have subscription for Radio and Travel link (No Traffic) for just over $100 for a year. At the time I could not get Travel Link only. The person I talked to indicated they could only do certain offers on certain radios. Travel Link adds $2/mo. Traffic is $4/mo. (not worth it to me).

After following the advise on this forum I ignored the multiple letters (first the white envelopes and then the yellow envelopes) all with the same offer. I finally let my subscription expire and hooked up my Ipod inside my EX. Strange enough last week while driving to work suddenly my Sirius Travel warned me of an accident along my commute and when I clicked on the Sirius radio all my stations were working again. Twice a message popped up to renew my subscription, but I just cancelled it. Free radio for now.

Let mine lapse and just got an e-mail after 1 week for $6.42 per month. I added Travel Link for $1.99 a month but not traffic....that was wrong 50% of the time for me. Here are the terms;

* OFFER DETAILS: Activate a prepaid Annual "Select" Subscription Package on your inactive radio and get 50% off the standard published monthly rate of $12.95/month, plus free activation (a $15 value). Other fees and taxes will apply. Service will automatically renew and bill at the then-current rate after your promotional period ends until you call SiriusXM at 1-866-635-2349 to cancel. See SiriusXM Customer Agreement for complete terms at siriusxm.com. Offer cannot be combined with any other and may be modified or terminated at any time. Pricing and programming are subject to change. Offer only available to addressee. SiriusXM U.S. Satellite service available only to those at least 18 years of age in the 48 contiguous USA and DC, with Sirius also available in PR (with coverage limitations), while SiriusXM Internet Radio is available throughout our satellite service area and also AK and HI.

Called up and back on! Not that it was off anyway, you get a bunch of stations free for a couple weeks he said. They would only give me ONE year at this price. Guess I will have to do this every year until they decide to stop.

I did the exact same thing. Waited for the email. Same deal. Got travel link too. No traffic. Marked phone and wall calendar to cancel just shy of one year so does not auto renew at full price.

Glad I paid the $500 for the lifetime membership when I did 5 plus years ago.

lifetime subscription

I got the lifetime with my jetta back in the summer of 2006 for $400. I'm hoping that I can talk them into another lifetime subscription in a few months... my explorer is going to arrive in a few weeks! :)

i just renewed mine after letting it expire for $ 5.00/mos for 6 month - then regular price after that - which i will cancel, and then renew at some discount rate. Thus for 1 year it works out to about $ 110 if i was to keep it for the entire year.

this is for Canada, so our rates always seem to be higher, and we do not get the travel link and other extras i believe.

My trial sub run out and was waiting to see if Sirius has worked out their issues with Travel link updates.

Would like to subscribe for Travel Link only and was wondering what Sirius is charging has for the service. The last I seen was $24.00 for a year.

When Sirius calls me about renewal, they want to push radio and I currently do not have a need for it. I receive a letter every couple of week for the radio renewal but Travel Link is never mentioned.

Also was wondering if anybody is still having a lose of Nav requiring a re-install the SD card or a system reboot. This started when I updated from V2.8 to V2.11.

Thanks
