I went over to 4wheel parts the other day and asked them how much the 6" skyjacker kit with the SOA conversion and they said that it was discontinued. So now I'm confused, did they ever make a kit that came with the SOA or did you have to custom make the spring perches and everything. They said that they wouldn't install it unless the kit called for SOA. They also said if you did the SOA it would void the warranty of the lift. So now I don't know what to do. The new rear springs are really expensive and I was hoping that I wouldn't have to buy them. I've seen a lot of people do this setup and was wondering if any of you could do it without voiding the warranty. thanks

im pretty sure it is just the 6" rear lift leafs springs they discontinued for the fact the SOA gives you the 5.5 alone and there is no need for new leafs.

thanks for the reply
I think they did discontinue just the rear springs but they said that they wouldn't do the SOA. They said that I would have to wait for them to come up with the new rear springs. I could always buy the kit and have someone do a custom SOA but they said it would void the warranty. Also if I got the 5.5" Superlift could I reinforce the part that everyone says breaks or would that also void the warranty?

That Superlift part, the drop down bracket has been beefed up quite a bit in the last few years. I don't think there's been any breakage of the new style. I guess you could beef it up yourself and if it does break just don't mention your additions. It's my understanding that they don't ask for the parts back.

superlift makes an SOa kit.... so i dont see if thats part of the kit how it would void the warrenty....

So going with the superlift kit wouldn't be such a bad idea now that they have made that part stronger? The SOA setup is part of the superlift kit but in the skyjacker kit it isn't. So if you do the superlift kit with SOA it won't void the warranty but if you do SOA with the skyjacker it will void the warranty and 4wheelparts won't even install it.

I can't speak for you but I would go with the Superlift. It seems to me that they've beefed up the parts that had the problems. The SOA, which is only available on Superlift) is a great way to go as it gets all that stuff that gets hung up on rocks up and out of the way. Another point to note is that Superlift is supposed to have a very liberal return/repair policy and customer service is good. Skyjacker on the other hand is supposed to be run pretty badly . (All of this is stuff I've read on this board. I've no personal experience.) But I've been looking at both of these kits for some time now. And when the money comes through I'm going with the Superlift.

Well since I have a 5.5" Superlift lift I'll speak for them.

They have indeed beefed up the parts on the lift but they haven't fixed the weld that breaks. In the last 15 months I have broken 4 drop brackets. And thats the same drop bracket too. Every time Superlift said it broke do to "abuse." Needless to say they didn't warranty it.

This last time I took the time to reinforce it and I have done plenty "abuse" with it with no probs. I'd say go with Superlift over Skyjunker.

Could you show us a picture of how you beefed up that bracket? It'd be great to see how you made it nearly indestructable.

plus it just makes you X look that much cooler with the SOA....

Ok but its going to be bad cause its cold outside.

Can you see the bolt right in the middle of the drop bracket? That weld right there behind the bolt is where I break the bracket at. So I added those two gussets on the sides of the bolt. Have even cracked yet!!! Heres the pic.......
