I have a question for anyone who might have a possible answer. I rebuilt my A4LD a few years ago and it has been working great except for one slight annoyance. After it warms up, say after driving about 40 or 50 miles, I will come to a stop at a light or something, and when I take off, it seems to have a slight binding "feel" in 1st gear, then normal after it shifts to second and subsequent gears. This binding is slight, but noticable, and only occurs after warm-up. My thought is that I didnt adjust one of the bands good enough, and one of them isnt releasing properly. What are your thoughts? It has done this for a few years from day one, with no change, as far as getting better or worse. (1993 Explorer Limited) Thanks! :navajo:

I dont specifically remember, but I dont think so.

Is there a good thread on adjusting the kickdown?

The adjustment is simple. Squeeze the piece which is under the hood near the master cylinder, and pull on it until you feel the cable is tight. Go into the vehicle, and step all of the way down on the accelerator pedal. It is now adjusted.

I will give it a shot. Thanks
