My manual trans shifter is REALLY loose and it's starting to be a little difficult to get it into the gears. Any suggestions on what to do about this? Can I rebuild the shifter or do I need to replace it and where can I order from?

There is a plastic bushing set where the stick connects to the trans that will go bad periodically. I dont think that its a hugh job to do, cost me $50 at a mechanic. Do a search on it to see if its a DIY

If you really want to do it right, get the Hurst shifter for it. The listing is for 4.0 Rangers, but it is the same transmission. Check Ebay for one, they show up periiodically (that's where I got mine). Installation is a snap, and you will never regret it. Looks great, too.

I second the nod to the Hurst Shifter.....

Even a PERFECT WORKING Stock shifter, shifts like CRAP...

The Hurst Shifter is taught, smooth, and PERFECT.
