smoke colored headlight covers?

this is prob a dumb Q but can you see the lights shine through at night or whenever you need the headlights on or do you have to take them off?

You can see the light through the covers, but (as expected) it is much dimmer than with out them. Also in most states it is actually illegal to run headlight covers. Most cops overlook this during the day because the lights aren't nessary, but they like to bite you for running them at night.

I've recently decided to ditch my headlight covers for clear corners instead. Plus I wanted to use my Silverstars to full advantage. You'll find yourself getting tired of relying on your foglights for the majority of your light. Cops have never given me any problems about it.

i like the look of the smoked covers but i'm not gonna go through having to pop them off every night. i also see that they make clear covers and i saw them the other day on an F-150 and they looked nice.
