You could make yours look just like those for under $20 dollars

Ya. I need to get a new left tail light anyways because it's chipped a little. Idk I mean IMO there would be no worries about how they would turn out or anthing.

Check these out and tell me what you think about them! I might pick me up a pair if they are legit.

Not trying to be a killjoy but I would check to see if the are legal in your area, if you are concerned about it. I'm guessing they are not. If you do get them I'd like to see a picture of how they look on your Ex.

Personally, I would never spend 180 bucks on those. I am planning on getting these for my Black 04 X

If you get these I would love to see pics of them on your Ex.

I will throw some up as soon as I get them on. Planning on getting those, black headlight housings and smoked corners around the first week in September or so.

No that's a legit question. For starters, I don't drive that much at all. But second, I've seen and known many people with smoked tail lights that have never gotten pulled over by it. I know a guy here in TN that smokes tail lights (he did my windshield tint), and he said as long as they aren't too dark then I'll be fine. Third, I have have a lot of things done to my X that I could get pulled over for, but I never have because I simply follow traffic laws.

I would suggest trying to find some at the junkyard first and have him smoke them. Save yourself some cash, 180 bucks seems a bit steep for stock, smoked tails. Just my opinion though

yeah i got a can of nightshades at advance for like $15 and did it myself ... and they look WAY too dark ... mine is about half as dark and it is almost too dark for safety purposes ... just my opinion

From what I have seen, the only issue would be during the daytime. The light seems to come through just fine at night.

to use nightshades effectively you will need to "dust" your lenses with a lot of small, light coats. Almost overspray on them a bunch of coats to get them just right. It took me a few trys to figure that out.

yea just at dusk when the sun is killing you driving ... that is my only issue with the light

wow, I would not pay that much for that! I can do that for $15 & 2-3 hours. Way over prices.

And in most states its illegal. because your tail lights will no longer be reflective, so if you get hit from behind you're at fault. (I believe, this is how a cop explained it to me)

Wow that's way too much! Niteshades is your best friend just clean them really good and spray one light over spray like coat so it works like a primer to stick to. Wait 5 minutes Then a light-medium coat with a smooth surface. Let dry for atleast 2 hours and resist touching it to see if its dry. Mine look as shiny as if I cleared them and they have been on for 2-3 years. For 15 bucks I did my taillights and side markers so Hell with 180
All light coats will give you a dull surface.

try here... may be cheaper...
jonstintedtails

you can send in yours and get them done... and they do headlights too...

"05 Explorer tails cost $90 plus $20 return shipping & handling to tint your lights in standard Stage 2 tint. If you want to leave the clear section untinted, that is an additional $20. I would need around 2 days to complete the work plus shipping time.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

I just emailed them and got this back... so there you have it!

I just did mine. I did 2 medium coats and they turned out darker than I wanted. Maybe one day I'll sand them down and make them lighter. Tell me what you think.

They look good man. I want to do them fairly dark because I have really dark tint and I don't want to have a two different shades look to it.
