Snow performance??

I used to have a STEEP black top asphalt.

(I don't know why the previous owner wanted a black, smooth, no-grip driveway. Anyone, would have to park down at the road and walk 150-ish feet uphill to the house.)

I had found some 32x11.5's - BUT THE BIGGEST HELP was that I had a jump box with an air compressor and when we had snow I'd deflate the tires to high teens-low 20's for a big fat foot print. When on the snow, I could used 4wdLOW and crawl up the hill. On the snowy street I used 4wdHIGH and if making onto cleared streets don't dry turn, sharp turn (esp at low speeds) and logically drive attentively, defensively, "like a grandpa" as you don't have regular handling and responsiveness from your tires.

Lowering PSI may be good for sand traction but is not a recommended Winter driving procedure. If anything, according to tirerack.com, a slight increase is recommended although most recommendations say to maintain the manufacturers recommended PSI. A narrower tire is better for snow traction than a wider one since it results in less resistance and allows the specially designed tread to grip better.
There is a whole thread on this;
