Hey everybody
Im thinking about putting a snow plow on my 93 4x4 explorer.
has any one done this?
how did the truck handle the plow?

never done this but be sure to put heavy duty shock in the front and that all suspension rubbers are fine because it will crack more and more if the are already craked
 






I wouldn't try it with the automatic. I also wouldn't put a full size commercial plow on one as the weight would probably be too much for the front end. Fisher and Meyers make a residential plow, and so does Blizzard. If I was buying new I'd get a Blizzard. There are also a few light duty plows available. A have a light duty plow from a company named Snowbear. I like it, and it was certainly worth the money. It's also only 200 pounds.
 






This has been discussed before. If you want to plow snow get an old superduty with an auto. You will kill an explorer.
 






If you are only doing your own driveway, and of course when you get a plow and the weathers bad, you get a lot of new "friends", a Wrangler isn't a bad plow vehicle. They are short and are plow nice in tight situations. They also can have a plow as small as 6'6" and still be effective.
