I currently have a 97 sport loaded, 4x4 with 72k miles(i paid 3500 last july with 50k on it)

-I found a 97 xlt, loaded awd with a v8 and only 77k miles. 2500 bucks

I really want to go for it, but the situation is complex, as i would sell the sport to my girlfriend, and i would be fairly strapped for cash as she is making me payments. I also would feel bad if the trans or motor goes on while she has it since its the SOHC. I think i might go take a look, and if its in good shape im gonna go for it. I want a v8 so bad.
What do you all think?

I know what you mean about the payments. She just really needs a car and she would only end up owing me about a grand. Plus i would get a v8. I just dont know.

You'll never see all that money. As mentioned, it'll eventually lead to a fight at some point. Things will go south, and if she's got the title, there goes your car, money or not.

If she can't afford to buy yours, and you can't afford to buy the V-8, stop there. It'll be better in the long run.

Or, sell yours outright and buy the V-8. You wouldn't take a partial payment for your truck from a stranger, would you?

If you go into it knowing your gf isn't gonna pay it off and before the end she won't be your gf any longer, if you know all that ahead of time and are comfortable with it, go for it.

Thanks for the advice, you guys are right. It just wasn't logical to do this. I was just kind of jumping the gun when i saw a good deal, and a v8 which i want. Its not the best thing to do. I love my current ex, it would be hard to let her go haha.
