Okay, I've done several searches on a lot of the topics that I'm going to broach here, and haven't been able to find complete answers... so here goes:

SOA: I am very interested in this conversion, and from what I understand you only need another mounting plate welded to the axle for the leaf springs. Is there a kit for this somewhere, and if so what is the price/ manufacturer?

TT: I have a 2wd, and have seen people with some extreme lifts w/ just the TT. Is this possible on all 2wd's? Having seen the thread on retwisting the Torsion bars and then reinstalling and cranking up higher, can I continue to do this for as high as I want? (want ~3")

Shackles/I'm an idiot: I have already purchased shackles and have run into some problems. It seems that I cannot loosen the bolt going through the shackle to frame mount no matter what I do. Any suggestions? I have tried using a cheater bar, liquid wrenching to death, etc.... the reason I'm an idiot is that this is even a bigger pain in the ass because I had the muffler shop run duals out of my X, and the driver's side tip is 1/2" away from the aforementioned bolt... DOH!

You are not an idiot! The info can get confusing and you tried a search first, you did the right thing.

SOA - Superlift makes a bolt-on SOA kit. I don't know the model or preice, but maybe that can help you out. It is recomended that you have the kit welded after install.

TT - Yes, you can tighten the bars up very high since you don't have to worry with CV strain. But remember, the higher you go, the rougher the ride gets. I have ridin in a Ranger tweeked all the way up and it rode like a brick.

Shackles - Not sure what to tell ya except to keep on oiling it and keep trying. It will eventually come off.

Since you are 2wd, try looking into lifted spindles. They are a nice way of lifting your front end which you 2wd guys have.

SOA kit: Superlift, inexpensive

TT: depends on the truck. Many members' adjusting bolts max out at close to 2". You could always get longer adjusting bolts though. With a 2wd, you can go higher than a 4wd, but I wouldn't go more than 3-3.5". Your ride will keep getting stiffer, you'll lose front droop, and put a lot of stress on the bars.

Shackles: keep working at it!

EDIT: I just saw Robb's post. The 3" 2wd lift spindles are a good idea for the front.

i'm very instered in this "<-- sry for the spelling" So where could u find the SOA lift becuase my uncle welds but it's bolt on but recomended it be welded on after install sounds like a good i dea and i'v never heard of 2wd 3" lift spendles sry guysn i'v very new to this

thanks for the replies guys... and yes I am an idiot... after messing with that damn bolt for several hours now with that tip staring me in the face I have wholeheartedly come to that conclusion..should have had them put out further...

is Superlift an online company, if so a link if you will? If not, a phone #?

and where can I get the spindles from?

believe me....it is very appreciated when one tries a search first!
