SOA with leaf spring removal and traction bar

ok im looking for the best travel for cheapo.. since its a tough truck/budget builder.. and the explorer leafs are very flexy how would they be if you removed a single leaf from each side and did a soa? it be good for what 4.5" of lift? add a 1" block on that and have a very flexy rear susp right?

did anyone make a custom traction bar for cheap? i havent seen one yet but think it could be built
 












couldnt you just use 1st gen sport leaf springs since they have less leaves?
 






IZwack did that with his suspension, I dont know if he added bloacks to the rear or how long his shackles are but it flexes well. Mine is no where near that good with all the leafs in the pack, but they are getting removed soon for 63" chevy leafs that the toy guys love so much.
