Hi guys, I wont be able to go for a while, new baby arriving soon. Anyway have you guys took your Explorers on the beach? Can I expect mine to handle it pretty well? My old Nissan Xterra did a good job of it.

I'm thinking that there's 2 of us leaving for that area on saturday mid day-ish,,,,,,,, and expthis, i guess will be leading us to that area,,,,,,, what gear do u drive in on the beach?lol i have absolute no clue on how to do this w/ an auto matic,,,,,, 4 lo? or 4 high?// i'm guessing low?

So when i hit the sand, I'll put it in 4 low, check, but what gear on the trans do i run? drive? or 2nd? i'm so confused, yet excited, my first time off roading!!!

Google Maps says it's 1hr 41 mins from Richmond. How much further to where we start wheel'n and what time do we plan on starting. I thought I heard 1:00p. Looks like weather should cooperate. My coworker will be my copilot.

Also, What are the plans for eats and what time to we expect to start the drive home process. I know, I'm a plan freak.

Josh stated he wasn't going to wheel but might meet us in/around Virginia Beach for lunch or dinner if we can coordinate it. I do need to meet up with him to give him a tire back I was borrowing.

Im leaving around 1, my wife to wants come so i will make sure she can go, first time for her in the sand. As far as eats, theres a gas station and a Bk there. I will probably pack something as I need to pay for gas somehow. Coming back, I guess when everyone is done and ready to go.
