spare tire

hello everyone.

so i have a 03 explorer & i recently needed to change my tire & it turns out that the spare tire doesnt want to come down. i turned the lug that is in the trunk but i couldnt get it to come down. i took it to a shop & they couldnt do anything for me. does anyone have any suggestions on how i can get it down?

Maybe it's hung somewhere? Try applying pressure down on the spare when turning the bolt

the shop I took it to tried that didnt work. thank you for the suggestion.

When you then the bolt does it turn underneath? Possibly the threads aren't lining up. That's a weird problem haha

This is the FOURTH post you've started in less than one hour for your stuck spare tire. Bump your original, it will go back to the top.

Somewhat hard to access, but try spraying PB Blaster or a comparable penetrant on the winch to free the cable. Do you have a corrosion or rust issue? Have you tried slightly tightening the cable before loosening?

i will try spraying to free the cable thank you for the suggestion. all it does when i turn the bolt is make a clicking sound.
