I want to change the plugs in my 96 4.0 OHV. The motorcraft site lists 8 different part numbers for platinum plugs. Under the hood my engine lists the AWSF-42PP. At autozone when they look it up they get some AGSF-XXXX number. Has Ford come out with an updated plug since 96 and that is why Autozone has a different number in their computer? I guess I will call the dealer parts counter on Monday and see what they suggest. I just want to use the right plug in the engine.

Ford updates plug numbers constantly, the number Autozone gave you should be fine.

I just sent a request for a part number for spark plugs to fordpartsnetwork, and got a reply in less than 5 minutes!!!!!!!

I asked for the motorcraft double platinums and this was the reply I got......

"AGSF 22FM-F6 Motorcraft fine wire plug $ 3.99 each - this superseded the platinum's."

So I'm guessing this plug is the newest/best one for OEM replacement?

I don't know what the difference is between AWSF and AGSF??????

On the motorcraft website the AWSF is for double plats, and the AGSF just says plug......
