Time to change the plugs and wires. Plan to go with Motorcraft Double Platinums for the plugs. Anyone disagree?

Anyone got a line on good deals?

Motorcraft plugs and wires are high quality

Autolite DP plugs are the same. BWD magnetic suppression wires work very well. lifetime warranty. I get em at O'Reilly's.

I agree. There's an eBay seller that sells them for a good deal. I scored a set from him. Joe Dirt did too. Sorry, don't have his seller I'd handy, but they are a high feedback rating seller who doesn't gouge on shipping. Joe seemed to think he got a decent deal. I live in Canada, and even with shipping and exchange, I saved a lot going this route.

i have a set of E3 diamond platinum plus plugs and a JBL 9mm racing wires from summit and they kick butt

Rock Auto has great prices on Motorcraft wires. I picked up a set for my '97 5.0 for $60. They are a vendor here. Search the vendor forum for a discount code.

How about Bosch Platinum +4 (4458)? Aren't better than OEM's?

Search around the archives and come to your own conclusions. Like so many before you, I think you'll find they SUCK. :thumbdwn:

Yep- Bosch plugs do NOt work well in the Ex, as well as other Ford vehicles. Stay away from them, you'll be replacing them very shortly after they so in, because yes- they SUCK. That is not an exaggeration. I'm sure someone will say that they love them, but for every person that does, 10 will put up horror stories. Ask the spark plug guy linked about the Motorcraft wires- that's where I got mine, and I was super happy, and got them on the cheap!

I have them in a Mercury Sable (V6 DOHC) for 4 years now and they didn't give me any problems, that's why I have asked.
I have looked to Motorcraft site and the Platinum ones (that are recomended) don't have the dual grounds. But they are supposed to be at least 2 - that's what Ford literature says. I won't put that single ground plug in the engine, not with the dual spark coils (you know, polarity issues).

What I don't know it is the issue with the temperature rating... Other alternative would be Autolite DP - APP104.

damn i didnt even thing to look here first.
i got the 4 headed bosch ones as they were the only iridium ones they had.
