Ok...here's the thing. I asked over in other parts of the Forums, but my ??? was never answered...at least you all point me in the right direction. Anyways...my 97 X...the AC only works whenever I have it on high...it doesn't work on any of the other 3 settings. I thought it was just a bad switch/relay, and so didn't a guy that works on vehicles around here, so he ordered one and replaced it...didn't help it at all. But he also noticed something...my stereo didn't work after he replaced the switch/relay. Well, he put the old switch back on, but did not put the old relay back in because it had melted...so I am wondering if there is a bad ground somewhere.

:fire:

But anyways, onto my other problem. My stereo was not turning on whatsoever, so I thought...ok...blown fuse. I pulled the fuse, and it was ok, put it back in, and blam...the stereo turned on. But here is the odd thing about it...I am getting no sound out of my door speakers. I am only getting sound through my Amp/Sub...just the bass, nothing out of my door speakers. Does anyone know a way that I could fix this...cause I don't want just the bass, I want the music...I could live w/o my Sub(did it for 1.5 years)...any suggestions?

:fire:

Oh yeah...I have...

AC only working on HIGH is caused by a blower motor resistor failure. Basiclaly this resistor is used to step the power down when using the low and med settings. The HIGH setting on your switch by passes this resistor and sends full power to the blower motor (That is why it works on high only).

For your first question I had the same problem and it was fixed by doing what DeRocha said, change the resistor block. I had my mechanic do it and I don't think it was much money

About the speaker question, could the wiring harness be loose in the back of the HU or when pulling out the HU could the splices between the harness and stock speaker wires have come loose - the fact that you're getting a signal from the sub preout makes me think the HU itself is okay.

I have a similar HU and i don't think there is an option you could have selected to mute the internal amp but take a look in the manual to be sure.

Yup...I'm an idiot...pulled the HU out tonight while waiting for a buddy of mine to get off of work and played with the wiring harness and blam...there's the sound back. Thanks for your help fellas!!!

Thanks for the update and glad too hear things worked out...
