I have a Harman Kardon Traffic Pro headunit (simple looking cd player with GPS capability) that I was supposed to install in another vehicle but decided to put it in my 1999 Explorer. It requires a hookup to the vehicle's speed sensor wire for the GPS to operate correctly. Can someone tell me where to find it, and also maybe the reverse (optional) wire. Thanks

Since your Explorer is 1997 and up, the sensor used for the speedometer (and to shift the transmission, and for the ABS) is mounted on top of the rear axle. It is a two wire sensor who's pulse is varied depending on the speed of the vehicle.

Thanks for the reply, is there anyway to find this wire inside the explorer, near the radio? Thanks again.

Sorry no I don't know which one it is. And I forget what the colors are but you can peel back a little bit of the wire loom its in and see for yourself.
