My wheel well splash shields tore completely when I worked on the front end over the summer.

Winter is coming and I'd like to replace the splash shields for the rain and snow.

Can't find splash shields for '1998' but I can for 1999. Are they the same?

Thinking about these ones here:

In the not-too-distant future I'll be getting an allignment and so I'd like to use those reusable pins where you push on the centre so they can be pulled out easily. Rather than the christmas tree type that fight and break.

Any recommendations?

I have splashers off a 97 (RH) and 00 (LH) so I am inclined to say they are the same. I found them at the JY. If a 00 fits, I imagine a 99 would fit a 98. Im also not aware of any suspension changes from 98 to 99. The 2 part control arm etc all stayed the same afaik.

As far as pins not too sure, sorry.

They are the same
I made mine out of a tractor tire inner tube Using the old 1 as a pattern

Not 100% sure, but I think they are interchangeable side to side…

Thanks guys, I'll go for it.

As for the pins, they are still cheap so I suppose I can just buy two sets and replace any that break when taking them out.

your link is for a 99, OP has a 98. Rock Auto doesn't show anything for a 98. I would have thought they were the same but after a quick look around I haven't found any listed for a 98. so there must be something different.

Found several similar EF threads regarding 1998 vs. 1999 inner fender splash shields with no definitive answer.

At this point it probably wouldn't hurt to call RockAuto for 1998 compatibility. Good luck.

96-01 all the same all
Compatible with each other

Aftermarket splash shields usually made from crappy Material that won’t hold up…
But they make for excellent templates

I wanted to get them from RA but for some reason the left and right shields ship from different warehouses 🤯

I refuse to pay 12.99 twice. It's ridiculous. They are most likely at the same warehouse but they either think two boxes are required for shipping two splash shields (nonsense) or it's a deliberate attempt to gouge.

Great, thanks for confirming.

If you have a little bit of time and like durable stuff, then i would prefer selfmade splash shields.
They protect everything behind much better.

Those look fantastic!

Thanks, choose 4 mm thick rubber with texture layer inside, takes time to cut with
a metal shear and time to align. So unfortunately it's heavy to disassemble
if you want get to suspension parts.
But i do not like the "open inner fender" in front and rear, so i closed every gap
with rubber and flexible plastic parts.
Disadvantage, you did not look behind so often, rusty frame is the answer.

I got tired of fighting the Christmas tree clips, so I bought a three piece Snap-On tool set my ex-Ford mechanic neighbor suggested. He loaned me one, and removal was no problem. I haven’t used the super long one much, if at all.
