So the A/C has never worked on my ST. I caved in to the heat today and thought maybe I'd try a recharge with Red Tek 12a. According to their info, pressure on the low side should be around 38psi when the job's done. When I connected the gauge to to the coupler though, it shot all the way up to 120psi before I'd done anything!

Any clues as to what's going on? The compressor is cycling 1-2 secs on and 8 secs off. Not sure what a normal cycle would look like...

You must recharge with 134a, what you used is probably illegal in US.

134a is banned in Europe, and being phased out in the US by 2021 I believe. The stuff I'm talking about is R12a, which is legal and sold here in Canada.
